WANTED: an ambitious, goal-orientated individual that thrives in a results-driven role. If you want to play a part in helping a successful marketing agency continue to grow, and help other businesses succeed through marketing – then this position is for YOU! (How’s that for a cliché sales pitch?!)
ABOUT US: Tulip Tree Marketing is a boutique marketing and design firm based in Stewartville, MN that is small enough to care but talented enough to make a big impact through marketing, web and graphic design, copywriting, photography, social media management, and more. We’re a creative company that exists with the sole purpose of making businesses and individuals stand out in this ever-changing world of marketing.
THE JOB: The truth is, our director needs help in running the business as she’s got too much on her plate. We’re unsure if the title for this role should be Marketing Assistant, Executive Assistant, Office Manager, or Right-Hand Man/Woman to the Boss Lady... Maybe Chaos Coordinator? Jack/Jackie-of-All-Trades? As a small business, we wear a lot of hats. And this role will probably wear the most of them, but you’ll have the ability to build the role based on your strengths you can offer to leadership and the rest of the team. Regardless of if you’re just starting your career or looking to make a meaningful change – if you appreciate variety, thrive in helping others, are eager to use your creativity, and want every work day to be fast-paced and different, then you should definitely apply.
PRIMARY DUTIES: (Written in Microsoft Word. Not stone. Like monkeys, these are sure to evolve over time.)
- Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the company’s activities (answering phones and running errands; facilitating schedules and meetings, etc.).
- Be available as a resource for senior marketing professionals who need assistance with completing large projects.
- Create, maintain, and update spreadsheets, databases, and inventories with statistical, detailed, and accurate information.
- Assist in monitoring active marketing efforts and developing ways to improve results.
- Conduct market research, collect/organize data, and analyze reports.
- Collaborate with team members to create innovative ways to gain exposure for both Tulip Tree and our clients’ businesses.
- Communicate directly with clients and encourage trusting relationships.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: (Don’t have it all? Then show us your persuasive skillzzzz.)
- Administrative and/or marketing experience is preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma is required. Degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, or relevant field is a plus.
- Good understanding of office management and marketing principles.
- Top-notch Microsoft Office program skills, but computer-savvy in general with the ability to take on any new program or application put in front of you. (Adobe Creative Suite experience would be major brownie points)
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.
- Well-organized with a business- and client-oriented approach to decisions.
- Exquisite communication and people skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as contribute in a team environment.
- Desire to succeed with an ambitious and optimistic attitude.
- Enviable attention to detail.
- Value efficiency over hurriedness (“work smarter not harder”).
- A strong belief that the Oxford comma is the superior choice in comma placement.
Does this sound like fun or just a jumbled mess of confusion? As good of copywriters as we believe we are, this is a hard role to articulate, so allow us one more attempt: We need someone to assist Tulip Tree in day-to-day business operations and marketing efforts, helping to keep the chaos under control and support the team in our collective goal towards future growth.
THE NITTY GRITTY: This position is a full-time, in-house – we repeat, IN HOUSE – position on the north end of Stewartville, MN (just 8 miles from Rochester, MN) in our beautiful, newly renovated facility we just upgraded to in March 2021.
Starting salary is based on experience with opportunities for additional commission and growth. (For perspective, an *entry level* candidate with minimal experience can expect a $36,000 annual starting salary.) Benefits offered include health insurance, 401k, paid holidays/vacation, flexible schedules, and more.
IF YOU WANT IN: Enough of the brass tacks...
Submit your jaw-dropping cover letter and resume to showcase exactly why we should hire you.
